• NL Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

    Howard Lederer was born into in a family of 5 where he loved taking part in various card games when he was young. He found himself becoming really competitive in these card games as he was competing against his father. After graduating from Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to put college on hold for a little bit and headed to New York to play some formidable chess. While competing in chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the rear of the room. Howard’s initial two years were difficult as he played countless hours and lose most times. He made some extra cash by being an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He theorized he might better his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to acquire more rest and focus even more on the game.

    The actual advancement in his game happened when he started wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the the most favorable gamblers would often wager against one another. Howard had access into some of the foremost minds in chess. With their assistance, he would sharpen his logical thinking techniques. He applied these strategy ideas to the game of No-Limit holdem.

    He also helped his sibling Annie Duke learn poker. Annie was a superb student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper choice. Howard told Annie to head out to Vegas and play in the WSOP competition. Annie Duke is one of the greatest women players the poker arena today. Howard relocated to Las Vegas in Nineteen Ninety Three and participated in cash games for the successive 10 years. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard decided to participate in more tournaments.
