Gus Hansen had an amazing year on the WPT where he was the only gambler to achieve last table in 3 of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a massive pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Gus has made many tv poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest gamblers anywhere in the world. While playing online poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He often participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen more often than not buys-in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He waits for a good hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Gus is an excellent poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has no reason to settle at the table with the minimum buy-in.
