• NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Howard Lederer?

    Howard Lederer lived in a family of five in which he enjoyed playing various card games at a young age. He found himself getting very aggressive in these card games while playing his dad. After graduating from high school, Howard made a decision to put higher education on hold for a little while and moved to New York City to compete in some formidable chess. While competing in chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s first two years were difficult as he played many hours and fail to win most times. He earned some extra cash by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He theorized he might improve his game by adjusting his life away from poker. He made an attempt to get more sleep and concentrate even more on poker.

    The real advancement in his abilities happened when he began wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest gamblers would often compete against each other. He was able to access some of the greatest players in chess. With their help, Howard would hone his logical thinking skills. Howard used these strategic ideas in the game of NL Texas Holdem.

    Howard also assisted his sibling Annie Duke master poker. She was a great student of the game as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper decision. He told Annie Duke to head out to Las Vegas and play in the WSOP tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the strongest female players the poker world ever. He headed to Vegas in 1993 and competed in money games for the following 10 years. When the World Poker Tournament grew in popularity, he made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
