• Horrible Fortune in Poker

    [ English ]

For a match where most players occasionally consider luck, there are tons of folklore in poker. When you mention that an individual was fortunate in that poker tournament they won, be mindful of how you say it. For example, if you mention that you were unlucky, your chances may not change.

Ok, that might sound a bit strange, but poker is a game armed with superstitions. Did you know that if you are gambling a game with 2 different decks and you’re asked to choose the deck, you should always choose the deck of cards that is the furthest away from you? Or, what If you have a run of poor cards, you need to settle on a hankerchief to break your terrible luck? It is actually considered good luck to blow through a deck of cards while they’re being shuffled.

A few other interesting poker folklores are:

    • You will be able to change the run of cards by passing around your chair three times.
    • The luckiest spot at the poker table faces the entry.
    • The worst seat has its back to a fireplace.
    • When changing spots, you really should constantly do so clockwise.
    • The worst poker card is the 4 of clubs.
    • It’s very unlucky to sit with your legs crossed at the poker table.
    • Monday is a bad day for betting on cards.
    • The thirteenth is also a horrible day, despite when it falls during the week.
